0.0 | bloc | September 23rd 10 | Listening to this album will be your demise. DEMISE OF YOUR EARS. Forget about the overly aggressive YD of the last album, the new YD is just terrible. Despite similar instrumentation, it just doesn't seem as effective this time around and even worse, your ears are treated to clean vocals in several of the songs. This point alone automatically takes away any hardcore edge this album had and throws it all into a generic sounding pot which is the metalcore we hear today.

4.0 excellent | Ray91 | September 26th 10 | I donīt know why everybody hates clean-vocals.rSure, there are some pretty shitty attempts (Caliban or something)rbut as well as they are executed well they do it for me.rAnd on this record this is the case.rTheir last record was a big package of just pure anger and heavy breakdowns and an ultra-pissed voice.rI can understand that people are disliking the new voice, for the new guyīs cleans arenīt for anyones favour, but he has diversity, which their old singer wsa lacking sometimes imo.rI believe this album is a step forward for the band.rThe instrumentation is still really heavy and the shouts are still very prominent, as well as the crushing breakdowns.rThe cleans are executed well and this record is just pure fun for fans of hardcore with a melodic side (Stick To YOur Guns,Stretch Arm Strong...).r

1.5 very poor | IAmKickass | February 25th 11 | I went into 'The Kids We Used to Be' expecting more than what was received with their previous album, but it seems the change in vocalist got the best of them as it turned out to be the worst thing they could've done. It's straight pissed off hardcore, but with very few moments to shine, the album never really gets anywhere. As a hardcore fan, I find myself disappointed at what could've been something great, but falls flat.

4.0 excellent | TBliss | September 23rd 10 | This album is pure fun. 11 tracks of big stompy hardcore. The 'clean' vocals are a nice touch, and kept to where they are needed. Great stuff.
