Ask yourself, "am I a fan of music or a fan of the music culture?" If you are a fan of music you will be extremely pleased with this album. I was not a child of the sixities so I am not sure why the moody blues get unfairly criticized for being pompous and over the top. This label sounds like rock'n'roll to me. From what I gather the people of the time treat the Moody's as Coldplay to the Beatles/Pink Floyd's Radiohead. This is unwise because because it marginalizes some great music. The Moody's were masterful crafters of music that people wanted to hear. EGBDF is the pinnacle of their song craftsmenship. This is were they made a complete concept work and had five excellent writers clicking on all cylinders at once.
