I don't even like Parkway, but I watched this DVD and it was amazing. You really feel by the end of it that you know the band personally and it inspires you to want to move to Australia and join a band!
A sincere retelling of the bands roots and life as a band, it is really inspiring and profound to witness a bands growth through sheer hard work and perseverance, eshewing current trends in the hardcore scene like Myspace page whoring and gimmicky pop covers to gain attention.
The live set is a promising showcase of their talent, especially good is Winston's live vocal ability and the tw0 guitar players very accurate playing. Somewhat dissapointing is the lack of enthusiasm in the crowd, which while still great, lacks the primal and confrnting feel of smaller venues.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the band before, but this documentary has made me appreciate them for what they are and I'm sure I'll be a much bigger fan in the future. It's rare to see such dedication and passion for life in a band who were ultimately the underdogs. This is a must-watch.
Just watched this and I must say that this band is a lot deeper than I assumed. Many suspect that any mainstream hardcore/metalcore band are a bunch of pampered limp-dick sissies.
Not the case here.....just.....watch it.
And the whole inspiration thing they went for really worked due to the chorus of 'Carrion' being played in the background on several occasions.
And the live performance was fucking great.
