Like circa survive? You'll probably like this and some. Thats about it, its not going to change the people who never liked this band in the first place.

Apparently Circa Survive, even in 2010, thinks that blending all their songs in an album from start to finish is still considered unique. It's to the point where they start the inter-song blending with 30 seconds left in some of the tracks, so we end up sitting there twiddling our thumbs while the band shows off a skill that's not even impressive (WE KNOW IT'S SYNTHESIZED). After "Strange Terrain" starts the album off both loudly and cleanly, the CD plays out much like Brand New's album "Deja Entendu", very mediocre, tolerable songs with maybe one or two tracks that blow you away. But there's a sacrifice, you need to stay long enough to hear it. This gem takes the form of "Frozen Creek" right in the middle which is such a soft and beautiful song that I'm surprised Anthony Green's helium-filled voice didn't blot it out. The band simply tests out various sounds and beats heard in the background in order to differentiate themselves from the typical rock scene, and it's good alt. rock, just not something you're going to remember in the long run, and the CD shows this as it dwindles down to nothing in "Dyed in the Wool", a laughable, generic album closer. Recommended Songs: Strange Terrain, Imaginary Enemy, Frozen Creek

the boys do it again in a much poppier, proggier kind of way. it still goes without saying that circa survive are a standout band in a genre that tends to lean towards sounding more serious than is necessary. i found it to be a ton of fun to listen to, but as far as anthony green's vocals go, they're not well suited the less intricate, more 'chordy' instrumentation. it tends to feel a lot more stoic than we're used to, and that's where this album loses the urgent, distressed feel that we love from circa survive.

Circa Survive gives the most fierce and polished sense of identity on this album. Coming off the cusp of solo work, Anthony Green breathes a new life into this already well established rock band to deliver satisfaction to the followers and new fans alike.

Just another amazing effort from Anthony Green and his merry band of gentlemen. I get the fact that it sounds slightly more commercial and less experimental than the first two albums, but it just doesn't matter that much. I don't think that any of these songs were written to become hits or get radio play. The strength of the released singles did that on their own merit. I especially enjoy some of the Seattlesque feeling of a few tracks.

Finally a return to their roots, they do a great job of mixing their first album and their second album to make one great album. Green pushing the envelope vocally and the music just rocks. Lastly, the hooks just get me and stay in my head~!

Considering Anthony Green's penchant for wearing dresses, it is hardly surprising that when he sings, he sounds like the secret love child of Geddy Lee and Hayley Williams. Having said that, I like Geddy Lee. I also like Hayley Williams. Score.

This one was my least favorite and despite how many times I've listened to it I still can't get into it. I feel like all the songs are very poppy and generic sounding and appeal to a more mainstream audience. What I really enjoyed about Anthony's voice was its dynamic abrasiveness which I don't feel is present in Blue Sky Noise.

By far one of the best albums of 2010. I was never really a fan of the band before this release. Honestly, I never cared much for their music and thought it was horrible sounding. Blue Sky Noise opened my ears to them and now I'm a huge fan of all their albums. Very strong album, IMO. Truly superb album.

Circa Survive has always been near and dear to my heart, and this album cements it. Juturna and On Letting go were good, but This, this is something else! Circa finally were able to create a masterpiece, an album that holds it's own against other, similar albums by soundalikes and contemporaries. There is oh so much emotion, and the instrumentation and most of all Anthony's voice have improved tenfold. Ive had three years of waiting for this album, and it does now disappoint.

I think that Circa has established that they want to become more concentrated in their sound. They have always been experimental and with this album they want to take a new route. By getting producers with high acclaim that have worked with artists like, Tool, I think that Atlantic records knows exactly what Anthony Green and the rest of Circa are capable of and it shows. The sound is extremely crisp with each instrument very well thought out, unlike their other albums. This album is great and has satisfied my hunger for new material from the band.

As a die hard Circa fan I have been skeptical about Blue Sky Noise since the release of the "Get Out" single. I was worried they were abandoning the sound i had fallen in love with. After a full listen to the album I realized they hadn't abandon anything, just evolved in all the best ways.
