A lot more death-y than their latest release, Slater combine all that we love from tech death: great vocals, twin guitar assault and bass that is loud enough to hear that familiar rattle. Leads are much more abundant than in their newer album, and they utilize nontraditional structure plus many of them use those good ol' whammy tricks that have not been used in death metal for quite some time. By the way, prepare for a saxophone solo in Narbe Part 3.
