Bottom Line: My favorite album of 2009, without a doubt, and one of the best debut albums I've ever heard. Everything about this album is amazing, even the interlude. Maybe I like it so much because they're very very similar to my favorite band, The Faceless, and it makes it so much better that I am seeing them both next week. GET THIS ALBUM.
This album is in the same vein as the faceless' planetary duality with great technical death metal that includes more black metal influences than PD which helps seperate it from the group. Also great dynamics here especially in our cursed rapture which is definitely the best on this great album.
Love this album. One of my fave tech-death bands by far. Listen to the intro of The Benefits of your Demise, totally unexpected but awesome nonetheless
A technical/melodic album in vein of Black Dahlia Murder, Arsis, and to a lesser extent old Abigail Williams. The vocals are grating, the riffing is nothing original, neither is the drumming, but the soloing is pretty awesome at times and the songwriting seems to be decent. Not a bad first release, this band definitely has potential written all over them. Sidenote: if you're going to have a great bassist, you might as well be able to actually hear him.
