The Bay area wrecking machine have more in common with a steamroller than a band — flattening everything in their way with impossibly heavy riffs and truly tortured vocals. They channel AmRep through a decidedly metallic filter.
Gambling on the Richter Scale is a dark and oppressive album born out of repetitive low tuned guitar riffs and yelled vocals. Without showing anything really new in the post-metal genre, this energic band has the merit to deliver a well crafted work that will surely be appreciated by the fans of Isis, Neurosis and Godflesh.
Crusty, metallic, sludgy death rock filled with heavy head-bobbing riffs, yelled leaning-toward raspy vocals with lyrics about how slow and agonizing work is. Not a single dud on the album.
