This shoddy attempt at atmospheric metal only hits the right spots once or twice, and all the rest is droning waste. If Xasthur had incorporated the ambient soundscapes into his music better instead of just letting it add a whole new level of deafening treble to the mix, maybe this would have turned out okay.
This is very good atmospheric black metal. The only problem is that some of the songs end way to early, like they were just cut off, particularly the songs with the names of "intro" and "outro." They sound like they would have turn into great songs, then they just end sadly. Still very good album though and by the way, this album is very melodic also.
