I think that this album took a step back from the previous one. They had an unreal recording and joey did a great job producing the last record. This album is a lot more rock and roll than metal. I was really hoping for more fast songs too. I think I would have liked this album a lot more if it had better production.
I thought this record was great. Bit of a swap in song and mastering style , big leap in talent. It has a few random slip-ups, but this is still one of the best 3IOB records. And as ironic as the song may be as compared to the band's older catalog (which is still awesome), I love the song "Preacher's Daughter".
This is a huge letdown from past albums! Gone are the screams and growls. Mostly gone are the blastbeats. This is nothing more than warmed-over 80's NWOBHM, with absolutely nothing to recommend it. The skill is still there, but the songwriting has completely disappeared. One word --- tragic.
