"III ways to Epica", "Center of the university" "Lost and damned" and "Edge of paradise" are my favorite songs here....Another masterpiece album, with great melodies, but "Karma" still remains my favorite...

Epica is all one would need to understand why Kamelot (when Roy Khan was the vocalist) would be the perfect companion for a Blind Guardian Tour. The group's inspirations and stylistic cues are prominent and passionately embraced, bringing with it what you'd expect out of a solid (though still flawed) power metal album. The vocals (both Khan and backing) and solos/song climaxes are where Epica shines the best, displayed at its best during the first one-third. You'll certainly find better metal to hear, but Kamelot achieve, at the very least, an energetic dose of power metal that can prove to be quite invigorating.

The songs don't develop as much as in the follow-up and there are a few weak spots, but it remains some of the best power metal out there.

epica is an exelent album it has plenty of tohmas youngblood greatnes roy exelence and the other people do very well and roy at this point in time and hes not too bad now i tell you if there was a rockband game that allowed you to pick charecters as a singer id pick roy

This is, in my opinion, Kamelot's best album. Amazing vocals, great song structures, and superb musicianship all around. Many, however, don't like this compared to The Black Halo and Karma, when this blows them out of the water (imo, of course). There is not a bad song on this album, and the interludes create a nice atmosphere and bridge between songs.
Standout tracks: Center of the Universe, Farewell, A Feast for the Vain, Lost & Damned, The Mourning After (Carry On), III Ways to Epica
