I'm actually really surprised how highly regarded this album is. I mean it's not bad and while it has some interesting moments it's nowhere near their best. I feel like people jumped on this because it's been their first metal record in a while but if you compare it to their more recent albums it feels so bland.

Paradise Lost at their catchiest without coming across as off-putting. If anything, the fact they were able to craft an album that takes traces of their doom and gloom foundation and make it this fun is all the more testament to how impressive this album is.

Great album! I had forgotten what Doom Metal has done for me until i popped in this little gem. Now I'm grabbing hold of the genre again and not letting go! Their best album since Gothic. lml >_< lml
