It is said that the beginning is the best, and in the case of Texas In July rumor remains true. Salt of the Earth is the best material ever released by this metalcore group, with two songs that we're re-done for their debut and three others never seen again, this is an EP that works and put TIJ onto the map. There are a lot of breakdowns, the vocal recordings are a little weak and the main overall sound is pretty damn solid for a first release. Terrific stuff here, I dug every song and what they brought forth.
Great Band, and I really hate when people call them a spoof of August Burns Red. I like both bands and personally Texas In July Is better. People you have to rememberr it's Metalcore and in this genre alot of the bands will sound similar..
hook, line and sinner is a boss song. the rest of the album, however, is pretty sub-par. i really want to like these guys but they sound like a poor man's august burns red
These guys actually sound promising if they start writing interesting or original material. This album just sounds like a kindergarden rip-off of Messengers though.
A metalcore band that takes it's inspiration from August Burns Red to the extreme, and make a complete cookie cutter representation of them. Not showing quite the musicianship that August Burns Red have, making it quite a boring, repetitive and unexciting listen.
