This cd is great.Even if you don't like lamb of god you should check this band out.The vocals are brutal,if you don't like Randy Blythe, even though he is on vocals you can't really tell its him.Theres not one song on here that I don't like.
Burn the Priest was the true debut studio album by Lamb of God; at this earliest point in their soon-to-be empowered career, their name shared the record's title and featured Abe Spear as one of the guitarists. There is carnivorous jollification to be had with this release, as it's a fun groove metal ride incorporating death and thrash elements. It also displayed the talents each member was given which would be expanded and renovated upon during future recordings, so that's all good.
Thrashy, violent and to-the-point, this album is fun up and down. It doesn't do anything we haven't heard before but nonetheless stumbles into success through aggression, speed and some pretty cool riffs. While it can get aimless at times and just on the verge of tedious, the great moments overshadow the flaws.
They had a much different sound than they do now. I wouldn't say it was heavier exactly... It was more... Attacking. If that makes sense. Like, it had a lot less groove to it, but I still found the album just as good as the lamb of god albums.
