FACT may be one of the freshest bands I have listened to in quite some time. To sum up their overall sound, there is a bit of technicality similar to (but a lot less than) to Protest the Hero mixed with screaming but much more dominantly, clean singing. Due to the bands origin, there may be an issue with the heavy Japanese accent in the clean vocals as well as a fair amount of autotune. But do not mistake this for something coming right out of Rise Records. Each song has a bright cheery atmosphere regardless of the the lyrics but most of the songs barely pass the three minute mark which is a bit of a downside. However, in the short time that you finish listening to the entire album, you have this feeling to play the whole thing again due to the uplifting mood that this band brings forward.
Catchy, technical, and awesome. BUT, the accent of the singer is awful. The review claims that the accent is not noticable, yet it is what prevented this album from being a 4/4.5 for me. Get this album but be ready to laugh a bit at the accent.
When I think Japanese music, I think Electro-Pop and schoolgirls sucking lollipops. Japanese girls are great and so is this album. It's far from pop but it does incorporate electronic elements in a tasteful way. FACT have created a unique breed of Post Hardcore infused with all the best parts of electronic music, Metal and Punk. It's definitely an debut album that will get people talking and could help revive a scene that has been overwhelmed by copycats and imitators. Buy it now.
