Perhaps this one stings more due to how highly I rate Racecar, but gone are many of the
things that made that album so special for me.
Gone (for the most part) are the soaring moments found in the likes of No-One Wins The War,
Stuck In My Throat & Moving To Blackwater, and they've instead adopted a more hardcore
approach. Which isn't bad, just doesn't work for me.
Everytime A Teenager Listens To Drum & Bass A Rockstar Dies is still a banger though and
among the best they produced. It has all those moments that made Reuben special.

Albums like this shouldn't work as well as... this? Working-man's post-hardcore, I guess, really. The success of this album is probably due to the incredibly strong British-accented vocals, the variety of the songs on offer, and a slick production job, especially given the money on offer at the time. Crazy thing is that this isn't even Reuben's best album. Also worth mentioning, "Return of the Jedi". Please check.

This album for me proved to be one of my top musical discoveries of the year. Guy Davis may be one of the most astounding drummers i have ever heard hitting the drums, yet the likes of meg white are given greater recognition. Astounding album, astounding band, and astoundingly, unsuccessful commercially.
