A multifaceted release filled with impressive musicianship and incredible attention to detail. The oddities that it so brazenly exhibits work to the album's favor, despite them often becoming annoying.
By far my favorite Kekal album, 1000 Thoughts of Violence is a near-perfect masterpiece. It's heavy, experimental, and still retains some of their previous black metal sound. The vocals are downright manic at times, and the social commentary lyrics are well-written and thought-provoking. A great avant-garde/progressive metal album.
