3.5 great | HarmonizedDeath | February 21st 20 | Way better than I expected! Jon and Hansi are still on top of their game.

3.5 great | Antonius | August 2nd 20 | Personally I find Demons and Wizards to be one of the greatest partnerships ever happened in the metal scene. Schaffer's choppy, metallic riffage meets Hansi's powerful and distinctive symphonic vocals and the match is perfect; a marriage made in heaven (or hell, for others). III is a solid release, very enjoyable to listen to and with some great moments. It is mature and more diverse than the two previous albums and contains all the expected characteristics: aggressive riffing, thunderous drumming and some spirit-lifting vocals. Despite all the nice moments, it has not managed to top the "Touch from the Crimson King" for me. Recommendations: "Diabolic", "Wolves in Winter", "Midas Disease", "Split", "Timeless Spirit".r

3.0 good | Blazewire | May 11th 20 | A decent slab of power metal from this super group combining the riffs of Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth and the epic vocals of Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian. This project leans more towards the heavier side of power metal like the aforementioned Iced Earth then the over blown epic of Blind Guardian. The same goes for the lyrical content being mostly of the darker IE fare, than fantasy swords and dragons. I'd go as far to say, if it wasn't for Hansi doing the vocals you could easily see this being a IE album. Decent production, great thrashy riffs and Hansi's signature vocals. Not too surprising. Drum work is good and complements the rhythm work. Sparse but good use of guitar solos, this is about the riffs. Bass to me seems lost in the mix, it doesn't add or detract from the album. Personally what lets this album down is actually it's epic length songs: Timeless Spirit and Children of Cain. Too meandering for their own good and outstay their welcome. Diabolic being the standout when it comes to epic songs on this album. Other standouts: Wolves in Winter, Midas Disease, and Split.

3.0 good | manosg EMERITUS | April 1st 20 | This is better than I expected, but still really unspectacular. The biggest takeaway is that we get to listen to Hansi once again on some aggressive material, and there are some good riffs here and there. However, this is way too long for its own sake.
