I don't like live albums. It's just an idea of immortalizing something unique and inimitable (as every gig is, or at least should be) doesn't appeal to me.
So maybe it's the fact that my hometown is less than 2 hrs driving distance from Gdansk, maybe it's Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra with brilliant Mozdzer on piano, but I really enjoy listening to that album.
For me it's a spirit of PF at it's best.
This album will stand the test of time as one of the most beautiful and endearing live recordings ever. It is a
massive accomplishment, and Rick Wright's final months are immortalized in this monolithic album.
Gilmour is on fire on this album. Not all - but most - off the Pink Floyd are very very good versions. Pompeii's version of Echoes is classic. But this really is even better. Fantastic live albums. Only reason for not giving it a 5 rating is the Gilmours songs from On an Island that are okay good but near as strong af the PF-songs.
The Best "Pink Floyd" Live album, by far, versions of Shine On You Crazy DIamond or Echoes are just breathtaking, I didn't thought the studio versions could get any better. Not a 5 for A Great Day For Freedom, and the Dark Side tracks are not as good as the rest. Please get this, it is unbelievably good. R.I.P. Richard Wright ( his last recorded concert )
