The folk-tinged 'Only Way to Be Alone' boasts many catchy, lighthearted tunes, but none of them go deeper their sugar-coated exteriors, resulting in a pleasant but largely superficial album.
it's one of those albums that you'll want to spin on days where everything's gone right so far. sun's shining, birds are singing- hell, you may as well have springs attached to your feet. good old war's vocal harmonies are warm and dan and keith's jovial guitar play trifles around and makes you want to head out for a roadtrip to somewhere sunny and woodsy. just ignore the overly simple lyrics and take in anthony green's vocal guest solo.
the vocals are what carry this band above and beyond in my opinion. their chord progressions are wonderful as well. this album is so easy going and fun to listen to.
