More, the first Pink Floyd album without Barrett, manages to be an interesting listen. It doesn't quite achieve the greatness of other works, but should please any diehard fan of the band. Newbies should stick to their 70's classics.
Here is the reason that Pink Floyd's status as a great band sometimes comes under fire-the era between Barrett's dismissal and 'The Dark Side of the Moon' is bloated with awful, cinematic soundtrack pieces. 'More' is the worst.
Though probably best suited for die-hard Floyd fans, More - the band's first soundtrack outing - is a disc that definitely has the ability to grow on you. I've admitedly exhausted Pink Floyd's catalouge, but despite some of the wandering this album does, it can actually be pretty accessibly through some of its tracks.
