Improves upon the original in every regard,
leaving the pure songcraft and lyricism on
display unadorned by flashy production and
ends up being one of her best releases

A surprisingly excellent remix? recreation? of her 2017 release. Even though some songs don't exactly excel or do much new with the new acoustic instrumentation (Happy Birthday, Johnny) others are greatly benefited by the stripped down production. (Sugarboys, Pills)

Much less trivial and trifling than you might expect, although there are several songs skate too close or too far from the originals (to underwhelming effect). Strips away almost all of the sexiness of the original to reveal how surprisingly vulnerable and beautiful the songs at the heart of MASSEDUCTION are.

Although not all songs benefit from this type of exercise, it makes some of the tracks so much better compared to the original. One of MASSDUCTION's worse assets was it's overproduction and songs like "Slow Disco" or "Fear The Future" fit this minimalistic approach a lot better.rAnd while "Pills" is still terrible we can truly enjoy Clarke's wonderful voice without all the production effects. Thank god for that.
