With a jaw dropping jump in song writing skill in comparison to their prior EPs, Loma Prieta find themselves not reinventing the wheel with their full length debut, but providing a kick to the face of anyone who said the genre died at the turn of the century. Raw production and instantly memorable riffs with complex song structures not found on any of their releases prior or after help ensure that this is one memorable LP that helped put Loma Prieta at the forefront of the screamo revival.
I just recently got into this band, so the first album I heard from them was their latest. This album is definitely more melodic, while I.V. is more harsh, and aggressive. This is a phenomenal album, with a fair amount of stand out tracks including the title track, armor, worn path, and David Fung. So glad I gave these guys a listen.
I think it's inevitable that I'd eventually 5 this. 22 minutes of furious and beautiful screamo that's so intricately
designed and jam packed full of passion and perfection that you have to wonder how they pulled it off
