Their worst album yet. The instrumentation is p cool as usual but the choruses don't do anything for me and I find nothing interesting about them. Also 45 minutes is a bit excessive for a VoM album.

People will hate on this because of the shift in sound, but VoM has always been fun and groovy, and "False Idol" just further solidifies that. It's the same band, just now adding in some foreign elements like clean vocals and extra backing tracks. It damn near out-Periphery's the real Periphery for me. Front half of the album is just such quality. I'd say this is on par with Matriarch.

Although it's far from their best, It's still a good album.rClean Vocals don't really dfo it for me, remind me too much of periphery.rI hope they go back to scream-only vocals.

Veil of maya gets way way way to much hype to me! Yes they are talanded musicians and make some pretty heavy metalcore and deathcore fusion, but like its nothing original! None of there work is that original

Would've been fantastic if this was a Volumes album, but as Veil of Maya I'm 5 tracks in and have yet to hear any interesting licks apart from rhythmic chugging. Not bad inherently, just not why I liked Veil of Maya...

Its just good. The Spencer Sotelo choruses don't belong, and only really shine well in Overthrow, everything else is garbage. Does nothing for the album. There are some stand out tracks though, so its a 3.
