The Eyes of a Traitor may have breakdowns and your typical metalcore-style riffing, but they also bring in a nice combination of melodic death metal and tech-death into the mix, making this first release stand out much more than your average deathcore/metalcore chug-fest. The EP does tend to drag on though, and songs become more repetitive after each listen. It’s a solid release, but there aren’t any real memorable moments, and there’s nothing new brought to the table.
