While it's not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, it is still disco. It's just as goofy as ABBA, but tracks like "Shine a Little Love", "Last Train to London", "Don't Bring Me Down", "Diary of Horace Wimp", and "Confusion" are all band hits, and ones that I would rather hear than anything else out of the short lived fad.

"Disco Very"? No kidding. This is ELO's poppiest, most commercial album to date - nothing wrong with that, but it's clear that they're running out of inspiration. Several of the songs are at least catchy and pleasant to hear, but unlike most of ELO's albums, there isn't much of substance, and they're beginning the overuse of synths and the move away from strings that would plague them in the 80's.

Outside of the couple of great songs on this album, it is mostly pop sludge. The joke among ELO fans is "disco? very." Don't Bring Me Down is the best track easily.
