"Memory" is by far my best song on the album, and in generall my favorite song from this incredible band....It's not as amazing as "Snowfall on judgment " is, but every Redemption album is good enough at least...

OK but lacks any real stand out riffs, memorable melodies, many progressive elements and
originality. It seems to be heavily influenced by the likes of Dream Theater, Fates Warning
with a little Symphony X. Nothing on this album grabs me. Although on the upside, they are
quite talented, the sound is quite nice and, although short, I like The Origins of Ruin.

I had been a big fan of Fates Warning and Ray Alder already when I came across this CD in 2007. When the salesman told me it was with Ray Alder I was skeptical to buy this album because I always thought FW was Jim's project, and that Ray was just a good singer. But this album is excellent, partly due to Ray's singing. Progressive metal in the classic sense. No immitations of bands like Dream T. or Sym.X. They have their own style and sound. They have real songs and not just technical goulash stuck together. However, technically all musicians are great. I love the style of the guitarist. He doesnt sound like anyone else and doesnt feel the need to show off. He focuses on the songs.And that's the difference between good progressive metal bands and bands that just have the technique but cant write accessible songs.
