Not a metal album by any means but has a good atmosphere. Very catchy album sounding like Depeche Mode for the most part. At the same time though it still has the Paradise Lost sound evident throughout.
A total change in direction for Paradise Lost, who at the time being seemed to be fed up with death / gothic metal. Was it a sell-out, or a band going their own way? No matter what the answer is to that question, one thing is clear: the album is packed with dark, heavy, beautiful songs.
