this is a great progressive heavy metal album. instrumentally they are pretty heavy and have lots of crushing riffs. they utilize the keyboard really well, switching off with the guitar in solos and often times leading into a riff. drumming is straight up but nothing special. vocals sound very heavy metalish from the 80's. but they are very good, has lots of control. they actually have some death metal growls here and there for emphasis. the only reason this isnt a 4.5 is that they have 2 or 3 bland songs that just dont go anywhere. i highly recommend this album and to get started listen to their songs Slipstream and Elusive

Enjoyable release, based on competent songwriting and catchy harmonies but "Dead Reckoning" takes no risks. Their next effort will be more adventurous.
