The under-ratedness of Broadcasting is something I will never understand especially on a site that believes that Modern Life Is A War's Witness is as golden as it is angry. My pointing not being that Witness is bad, I think that it is one, if not the best hardcore record ever but... damnit I don't know where I'm going with this but Comeback Kid have written absolute beast! Mixed ass kicking hardcore with baby kicking metal riffs and breakdowns that would kick the crap out of most metalcore bands. The problem is their debut. Wake The Dead was an excellent effort showing Comeback Kid off as a sincere happy hardcore bands featuring lyrics and chants that would make anyone pump their fists, but the musicianship left much to be desired. All in all though it was a pretty easy to digest, honest and youthful record. This is the way their debut hurt them, to switch from being a young spirited band to a fucking pissed off, burn your house down hardcore isn't an easy transition. Wake The Dead was without a doubt terrific but since I bought Broadcasting(or got a friend to buy it then found that I really liked it and borrowed it and never gave it back) no song has ever gotten old. I recommend this to fans of Verse, Modern Life Is A War and Refused.

cbk's best in my opinion
the vocalist is better i find, bringing in more of a metal sound, im not sure what he sounded like in his old band, but he's pretty good, seems more diverse than the old singer
the songs seem to be longer which is nice, i got sick of the last album finishing in about 20mins
lyrical content is really good, and what do you mean there's no emotion, thats quite incorrect i believe

With the addition of new vocalist Andrew Neufeld, Comeback Kid releases its heaviest album yet. With the constant use of screaming and chugging guitars one might suddenly forget their listening what genre of music their listening to. Though Broadcasting… only clocks in at 33 minutes, it certainly delivers. Tracks like "Broadcasting…" and "Defeated" are guaranteed to leave listeners headbanging to and shouting along with group vocals. The only cons with this album are the easily forgettable "Give'r (Reprise)" and the fact that there aren't any bass intros or leads like the ones seen in Wake the Dead and Turn it Around.

You'd think with the change in singers, the sound would evolve. Wake the dead is fucking great, as is Turn It Around. But I wanna hear something new. It's not terrible, but it's not all that interesting. In fact, I'd go as far to say it's boring. Really boring.

Comeback Kid returns with a new singer, though they are much more aggressive with more technical riffs than their older albums, the singing takes away from the album as a whole. The lyrics and yells make for a very repetitive listen with no originality and emotion at all.
