Personally, it is my favorite Beatles album. It's an epic masterpiece sporting all sorts of genres in the mix. Songs that flow together as essentially one track is one of the feats The Beatles accomplished, as well as there actually being a Ringo Starr drum solo in the mix.

Like The White Album, Abbey Road is up for a lot of debate amongst Beatles fans. Maybe it's the final half of the album; almost an early stab at prog rock, the 10 closing tracks blend into one cohesive song cycle. Maybe it's the pervasive influence The Jimi Hendrix Experience had on proceedings, which meant things were heavier and groovier (witness "The End", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", and "Come Together") than they'd been before. Maybe it was the throwaway Peppers-esque pop of "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" and "Octopus's Garden". Hell, maybe it's because George Harrison wrote the best song on the album this time. Whatever. Even if it's far from their best and the medley is mostly a failure, Abbey Road blows both Sgt. Peppers and The White Album out of the water, and the first half of the album has proved itself the final coherent articulation of their vision. Not bad work for a band on such poor terms with each other that they promptly split up.

An amazing album that is just an inch short of perfect, partly because "I Want You" should have been about two minutes shorter. Tracks 9-17, or the medley, are some amazing songs and I also enjoy the George Harrison songs on here.

I'll keep things simple: Abbey Road is one of the greatest albums ever made. It's cheerful and upbeat yet dark and gloomy at the same time, it has a Ringo Starr drum solo, it has four to five tracks that run together as a single song, it has The Beatles' heaviest and longest song, it was made at a point in time when The Beatles hated each other but it's extremely hard to tell when listening to the album itself, and there are countless other reasons why this is a classic. It's my favorite Beatles album, and it's one of the best albums ever. Not a single bland moment goes by. Oh, and the cover is memorable and filled with Paul Is Dead clues and it's just awesome. Yeah.

Found this album on a shelf and listened to every track thinking how I would review it. Seeing as the original came in 1969, its been a while since the release, let alone since there were 4 Beatles.
The Beatles, half dead or not, were the Jonas Brothers of the 60's. Of course, a much more talented version, and a version that the male gender actually enjoyed listening to.
The album Opens up with my favorite Beatles song, Come Together. The catchy song made me even more optimistic about the rest, especially when I had just heard Coldplay on the radio.
The best songs on this album would have to be Come Together, OH! Darling, Octupus's Garden (was he high), Here Comes the Sun, You Never Give me Your Money, and the trio of Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam, and She Came in Through The Bathroom Window.
So basically they almost had enough for an album inside of itself with the best songs. And the other songs keep pace as well, infact the 1969 album keeps pace with most of the newer music that dominates my shelves.
The Verdict: Its good! And so is most of the Beatles work, so don't limit your vision to just this album.

The culmination of the Beatle's career. From the early days in Germany and Liverpool, through Lennon and Harrison's LSD days, on into the tumultuous final months, everything is here. The Beatles are some of the best songwriters in history, and Abbey Road proves that: this is basically the album where they said f**k it and made music.

This album shows classic phases of The Beatles. It has "Come Together" and "Oh! Darling" which is like the beginning of thier career. It has great songs that are part of the Revolver and Magical Mystery Tour phase such as "Because", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", and "Sun King". It includes "Something" which is my favorite of millions of love songs written by them. It has classic joyous songs though such as "Here Comes The Sun", and "Octupus's Garden". If you become new to the Beatles and you wanted a taste of them, Listen to this album becuase it shows all there unique phases through music although it is not my favorite album. It is though, a classic.

The greatest Beatles album. Every track on this album shines like the sun... and two of them, in fact, do! The entire album flows just like a river, and it's a very amazing experience. Despite what others may think, the Beatles hit their prime here and their swan song was the greatest accomplishment the fab 4 would ever do.

This is the best Beatles album in my opinion and quite possibly the greatest rock album ever made. The highlight would probably have to be the medley on the second side. It flows perfectly into one of the most beautiful sections of music to be produced in rock history. The rest of the album holds up as well. Harrison contributes two of his best songs with the Beatles, Something and Here Comes the Sun. Come Together is hit or miss with me. Octopuses' Garden and Maxwell's Silver Hammer are both fun little ditties. Oh Darling and I Want You are both extremely expressive and show that the Beatles could rock with anyone. To sum it up, as a whole, Abbey Road blows all their other albums out of the water (and that's saying A LOT). If there are people out there that don't enjoy this album, then there is NO hope for humanity.

Triumphantly this album exhibits the expansive power of singer/songwriter/growing self producers at their finest. A
cultural whirlwind around the cover should be overshadowed by the ability to pull off a song over 8 minutes and a
montage of talent that is something like Paul McCartney saying "here, this is supposed to be our last album so here's
like seven songs that I just randomly thought up. Enjoy" which is exactly what he did. All of these songs (in the final
montage) stay generally under 2 minutes showing their potential but no full fruition and ending the whole she-bang
with a captivating last line that only is beaten by how much enjoyment is received by her majesty. This album does it
all and then beats that. Have fun.

It just has so many of those "magical" moments in it, where you find yourself floored by just how good the music you're listening to is. Flowing together perfectly, this is an album where if you don't own it, you lose at life.

Abbey Road is by far the worst post-65 album the Beatles put out minus the White Album. While it may have many stand out tracks including the beautiful Harrison composition "Something," or the deceptively upbeat "Maxwell's Silver Hammar." Overall Abbey Road fails to drag itself out of the awful "Because" or the tedious "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" which gets dragged on for six minutes too long. Decent effort by the Beatles but get Sgt. Peppers instead.

Abbey Road. This was the first Beatles album I had in full, and still my favorite. As a whole, Revolver is better, but there are moments of absolute magic on this record that the Beatles never had pulled off before. The three track suite near the end of the album is both incredibly fun and mesmerizing, while tracks like Octopus Garden and Maxwells Silver Hammer are among my favorite songs of all time. The best Beatles album for sure, and right up there on the all time charts.

I have always argued that Revolver is my favourite Beatles album, but Abbey Road is the best (especially over the usual Sgt. Peppers). But strangely not a whole lot of people argue for Abbey Road, no one denies the albums greatness, but this album barely cracked Rolling Stones top 15 albums of all time. (Not that I agree with Rolling Stone on music taste after the 60s) For any band, this would be a great accomplishment, but when The Beatles make up half the top 10, it's a snub. The whole first half of the album is literally classic after classic, not a single weak track (that's right, I like Octopus' Garden!). And the second half is this amazing ramp up to what I can only describe as one of the best album finales of all time, each band member contributing a quick little solo followed by the quintessential Beatle's lyric, "And in the end/the love you take/ is equal to the love you make"

Too much credit is always given to Sgt. Pepper. It was indeed a brilliant album, but it was also just another drug album (perhaps the same could be said about many albums). This was a very different story. When the Beatles stopped touring, and put more time into their studio material, something about their image changed. They began to discover even more purpose in the concept album and finding ways to cleverly place it in their music. And eventually, they went perfect in their true, reigning magnum opus finale act, Abbey Road.

Great songs abound on here and 'Abbey Road' is undoubtedly their most commercially successful and well known release, but for the most
part it is vastly overrated. The flow of the album from song to song is grating going from a great 'Serious' song a (though just as good)
'silly' song and back again *see first five or so tracks*. If this album was split in two or the tracklist were seriously overhauled I
could possibly start to see the allure of this album but until then earlier albums like 'Rubber Soul' and 'Revolver'. 3.7/5

After a few more listens, I still stand by the belief that this doesn't deserve a 5... but I have grown to enjoy it more. The dichotomy
between the songs is a lot less noticeable and I can better appreciate the album for what it is. I no longer feel that a re-working of
the album would make it any better and feel that there are very few "weak" songs on the album. Still, although there are many "great"
songs, I do not feel as spiritual connection with the band though this album like some seem to claim. I'm willing to raise my rating to a
4.1 or 4.2, but that's as high as I feel this will ever be for me. 4.15/5

There's not much to say about this record that hasn't been said. The first side is a great selection of catchy, varied songs, while the suite on the second side is brilliant in it's flow and feeling. It's home to some of Paul's greatest work, and certainly Ringo and George's as well. Definitely the best Beatles album as a whole.

A true classic. Very memorable, original (for the time), melodic, but yet very simple as well. Tracks that stand out for me include the jazzy "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window", the latter containing an extremerly catchy lead guitar line that you'll be humming for days! The album should really be listened to as a whole though, I think. Superb. The band is firing on all cylinders here!
Simply one of the best albums I've ever heard. I can't for the life of me choose between this and Sgt. Pepper, though!

As the Beatles neared the end of their career together, they were just reaching their most musically inspired. Each member of the band developed his own feel, and the writer of the songs could almost be heard in the mood of the music alone. Abbey Road has everything it needed to be successful, and, in my mind, to be in my top five albums of all time. Its hard to put a finger on everything i enjoy about the CD, but ill give it a try.
1. It's the Beatles. Paul, John, (and even Ringo), wrote some of their best music for this one.
2. There is tons of musical variety without losing either the identity of the band, distracting the listener, or getting bored, to listen to the whole album straight through.
3. George Harrison lays down the bass. This may be only an opinion, but he keeps the bass perfectly balanced. This could be less of his doing and more of Paul's or John's, but there is some great bass on this album.
4. The music is great. EVERY SINGLE song is enjoyable. Also, my favorite Beatles song comes off this one: Oh! Darling. It deserves to be on every persons' iPod.

I think that with this album, you either love it or you hate it. For me, I'll love it one day, and the next day I'll be like "get this out of here." I don't know. There are some REALLY good songs on this album, I'm not going to deny that, and I like how a lot of the songs mesh together to create one big song, but some of the songs like "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and "Sun King" just drag on too much.

This album is the best Beatles albums that I have. This is put together extremely well. The medley is stunning and the instrumental work is amazing. There aren't many long songs that the Beatles did but the second longest song it on this with the eerie I Want You (She's So Heavy). I usually like their shorter songs but this is an exception because I Want You is an epic masterpiece. But they still have the short, terse stuff. This also holds one of the best Beatles songs ever. Come Together has great drums, an awesome bassline and a great guitar solo. If this album didn't have the medley it wouldn't be half as good but the way it flows and how it sounds is purely genius. Even in their latter albums the still don't seize to amaze me.
