One of my forming metal experiences. This was a revolutionary album for me. A frivolous mixture ov many genres incl. doom, stoner, rock, folk and goth, with some black / death metal traces added in which amounts to one of the defining post-metal albums. I love the nicely rounded natural sound, fantastic vocals by David Gold, varied compositions. Each track is distinct and immediately recognizable.

Their weakest, and least innovative album. The black metal is prominent, but the cleans and melodic elements that define the bands sound are kept at a minimal.

This might be the worst alternative rock disguised as metal I've had the misfortune to hear. rAllure of the Earth is not just offensive to whatever black metal (and metal in general) rrepresents, but the music is also quite bad. The production and vocals are subpar and there ris no sense of structure to the songs, which are way too long and driven only by the lyrics, rand these guys pretend to be artistic or poetic or something. This is basically subpar alt rrock with worse production. Stay away.

Depressing? Check. Slow? Check. Long? Check. So what makes this album different from any other Doom release? In short, it re-imagines the entire genre, injecting Black Metal, down to earth lyrical topics and acoustic overtones to shape a completely unique take on Doom.
