This faggot who sounded off has clearly only heard this one album by Biggie, which is depressing, because this is probably his second worst, next to his other posthumous release. This has Diddy's grave robbing hands all over it, and it sounds sort of scattered and generally mediocre. But it's not AWFUL.
My last soundoff for this album got me a little ban so I'll try to be more diplomatic this time around.
I don't like Biggie. Further, I don't even respect him. Any supposed lyrical genius or legendary hop-hop talent aside, I find it rather difficult to lay any sort of praise on a man whose lyrics are as brutally and pointlessly sexist like the ones found scattered throughout this album (and his entire body of work). To sample some of the horribly offensive lines from his track Big Booty Hoes such as when the moon rises, I'll be cumin' in their eyeses (sic) and fuckin' bitches 'til their assholes' bleed would only begin to tell the story of Biggie Smalls and his needlessly offensive brand of mediocre gangta rap.
Most times, I can see little bits of merit in bands or artists who annoy me to no end, but not here. People say that he was a huge influence on the direction of hip-hop trends and while I can't speak to what this means in terms of flow or style, it certainly seems accurate in terms of lyrical stupidity.
An absolutely worthless album from an absolutely worthless human being.
