This is some of the most boring, uninspired, heartless music I've heard in awhile. Nothing but "music" for "tough guys" to punch the air in the middle of a circle pit, while the vocalist screams "fuck" before a generic breakdown. Just a disgrace to hardcore music, fuck this band.

one of the worst albums ive heard. the lyrics were written by a whiny 2nd grader that just got in his first fight with his parents.

Very poorly executed generic deathcore/metalcore album. Vocals are lol bad 90% of the time and the junz just aren't on par with the genre leaders.

it's like a bunch of 15 year olds got together and wrote 13 songs in 2 days.

it's literally every deathcore stereotype at the same time for 40 minutes

Even though this album is pretty generic and terrible, I still kind of enjoy it. Good driving junzjamz.

One of the most frustrating records I've ever come across. I dig their take on Slipknot-influenced metalcore (earning it a spot in the budding "nu-metalcore" scene) because when it works, it works. "Hypocrisy" is a good tone-setter, and "Snake Eyes" is a hell of a track.rBut for every nu-metal trait Sworn In successfully incorporates, they stumble over a dozen others and never recover. The "crazy" lyrics and enunciation on "Mindless" are cringe-worthy. The occasional Corey Taylor-ish rap-screaming is interesting, but crops up in the most inappropriate spots. The vocalist's "tough guy" lows sound forced and airy; you can imagine him puckering his lips, straining for Vincent Bennett's anger and coming up woefully short. Garbage lyrics. Breakdowns.rStill, "The Death Card" has a lot of potential: check the borderline chaotic section partway through the aforementioned "Snake Eyes" and the atmosphere and cohesion attempted on the album's handful of interludes. The last track, "Return (Heartless)," almost achieves a sense of doom, if not for the awful lyrics. I'll keep an eye on Sworn In, but they're going to have to either take a scalpel to their sound or fire their vocalist.

Simple beatdown music. Lyrics will be enough to put a lot of people off, but I like it for what it is.
