wish they would have gone in a bit of a new direction.. i felt this would have been the album to do it.. still decent but not much variety in their discog so far
The dsroka guy makes a valid point -- Emancipator does have a tendency to ride his own personal formula to death. Although this album is still an excellent slice of musicmanship, as rich and clever as aural key lime, it somehow pales when considering that it still sounds unsurprisingly similar to the Emancipator from several years back. To me, it tops the overt smoothness of Safe in the Steep Cliffs, but fails to break new ground like, say, Bonodo did with Black Sands.
