A lot of people like to draw comparisons to Passion Pit, but I see very little in common
other than that they both use synthesizers. Atmospherically, the most similar album I can
conjure is Hot Chip's recently released In Our Heads, though the song structures on Beta
Love are much more frenetic and much less intricate. Vocally, when not in falsetto, this is
much more similar to Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors. There's not much that digs deep in
Beta Love, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to listen to; sometimes that's all music need
contain. Bonus points for the intensely stimulating album cover.
