A very busy album, not something to be approached casually. The dense layering fails at creating substantial atmosphere due to a messy production job, but there are some excellent riffs here and the vocal performance is sinister as fuck.
Lovecraftian influenced, old-school death metal. What's not to love? The vocal effects give this an absolutely massive sound, and the hints at melody here and there break up the tedium pretty effectively. Not perfect, but a rock solid debut, for sure. Also: dat album cover.
Songs with a symphonic but brutal character. The perfection of some song parts are a blast, but there is a little problem with the sound. Feel free to play a little with your equalizer and change the sound the way you want it to be. This can make the difference of you're likin' it or not.
