CaptainAaarrrggghhh: I can rate this album, because in Poland this album is already out - i'm from Slovakia, but I travel often to Poland, so that's the reason i have already this album and so i can rate him
Sophisticated and idiosyncratic beyond what Riverside had ever suggested they could be - their greatest achievement to date. They finally sound like peers to their various influences, rather than simply admirers. They sound... like Riverside! I really didn't think they had this in them. It might lack the raw passion of earlier records, but SONGS is intelligent and layered.
Definitely a grower. I hated the feeling "Celebrity Touch" gave me at first, but now, after a few listens, I'm sold. Not their best, but it's a great album. Thought at first that all these 70s elements "ruined" the typical sound of Riverside, but they're all stil here.. Except now they are accompanied by a hammond.
