Its contextual importance in the field of funeral doom far surpasses its actual quality. Thergothon gets credit purely because of when they released the album. Unlike Skepticism, where the music itself is incredibly well done, emotional funeral doom, this is more Until Death Overtakes Me plodding boilerplate funeral doom.

Devastating atmosphere, extreme slowness, utter heaviness, bestial super guttural vocals and loads of dark emotion. Yes, this is funeral doom, done right.
|5.0 classic||fatalgerm | May 2nd 13|
Putting history aside, Thergothon layed down the framework for funeral doom. Without them, we wouldn't
have Loss, Skepticism, or Mournful Congregation and such. Super slow, piles of effects and guttural vocals.
Definitely a classic of the most depressive genre of doom. Feel the pain.

Every time I listen to this album I just feel so FUCKING happy! My heart and soul is overfilled with the joy this album exudes and I can barely contain my excitement of having to get through another day in this wonderful, green world. If you too would like to experience this uplifting and spiritual awakening, this album is definitely for you!
