Save The Nation has nowhere near the wit, the cleverness, nor the imagination that Royal Republic's debut album We Are The Royal had. While it still remains catchy in RR style and has their signature, unmistakeable sound, it seems as though the band got lazy when writing this album despite it being 15 (albeit, short) songs long. Many of the chord progressions and melodies are so generic and obvious you can actually sense what the next note or chord will be during your first listen of any song on this album.
