The album as a whole is good. After a few listens, you will begin to notice how it all blends together. The riffs aren't up to the standard on previous Breaking Benjamin albums, and Phobia only has a few standout tracks. The lyrics on this album are greatly improved from previous albums, but they don't redeem the album in total from stale repetitive riffs and bland soft verses and generic hard choruses. Overall this is a good pick up for any Breaking Benjamin fan, or any fan or mainstream rock.

This album is the pure representation of fear, a journey into the mind of one who can barely handle his own existence, this album is spine-tingling and numbing down to the very core, and every aspect of this album plays on one another to make an absolutely engaging experience. The vocals carry the album high and everything else provides the air current that keeps the atmospheric feeling created by this album alive.

This is another great Cd from a great band. Phobia is a cd that I enjoy from start to finish unlike other artist Cd's where there are a few tracks that I skip back and forth between. The acoustic version of Diary of Jane is an added bonus to this alreayd awesome Cd. Ben Burnley and the band just keep getting better and better. Oh yes and he does scream on this album as well, it just wouldn't be the same if he didn't. I would recommend that you pick this Cd up and soon.

Breaking Benjamin, before i started delving into music deeper, was one of my favorite bands. Those days, as you can probably pressume, are long gone. Even then, however, there is something about this band that makes me still like them and(*le gasp*) occassionally listen to them. Sure, it's largely just a bunch of overexposed, comercialized music that serves as little more than an introduction to other, deeper and more musically talented musicians(and for crap AMVs, but that's another story), but if you ask me, that isn't necessarily bad, and among the several mainstream bands that serve that purpose, this is one of the better ones in my personal opinion(i mean really now, are we gonna around saying this is as bad or worse than fucking Nickelback?). It has a darkly mood(as far as those kinds of bands go, anyway), the intrumentation is isn't half bad(i'd go ahead and say it's good), the vocalist has talent and the lyrics are ok. It isn't anything above a 3 when you put against many other musicians, but for it's own mainstream species, and from my own personal bias(and nostalgia), it ain't that bad either.

While the first two albums were okay, this thing is way better with a lot of catchy songs, always changing between nearly cheesy melodies and heavy riffs. Ben does his best job to date right here and You Fight Me shows that they still haven't shown everything they are able to do. Just a shame that Dear Agony was not so inspired once again.

Phobia is Breaking Benjamin at their best, showing progress in almost every area of their sound. Perhaps the most notable highlight is the dark, mysterious atmosphere that the band incorporated, probably concretized by the intros that made this album so famous. Looking in retrospective, the album is pretty diverse in musical terms colecting radio-friendly quality songs ('Diary of Jane', 'Breath' & 'Until The End'), heavier tones ('Had Enough' & 'Topless'), alternative experiences that actually work pretty well ('Outro' & 'You Fight Me') - which shows that they should be more experimental - and the acoustic touch in the piano version of 'Diary Of Jane'. Lyrics are satisfatory, if a bit repetitive; the exceptions would be the messy 'Topless' and 'Here We Are', a letdown both lyrically and musically. Other standouts include 'Dance With The Devil' and 'Unknown Soldier'. Gathering qualities like consistency, diversity and creativity, 'Phobia' is effectively Breaking Benjamin's best album to date (with the latest being 'Dear Agony').

The question is, is it better than Saturate or We Are Not Alone. Close, but no. However, this is a more emotional album than they've done before. I like all the songs, especially The Diary of Jane, Breath, Topless, and, I know I'll get a lot of crap for it but, Evil Angel. Ben's voice is amazing and holds the album together. If you're a fan of the band, check it out.

Breaking Benjamin was a very steady style that has been thru and thru reliable to be something fun and tantalizing.. Always will love a good piece of rock now and then and I tend to lean towards this band quite often..

I love the overall hardcore feel of the album and the catchy lyrics. You can genuinely feel the angst in ben's voice. The only problem I have with the sound is the bass guitar which is turned way up.

Breaking Benjamin has gotten progressively better with each release. Which is saying something becaue even their first album was decent and had some good tracks. The entire album phobia is a powerful listen. After the opening where struck with the first single Diary of Jane which to put it simply rocks.
For the rest of the album it keeps up with good tracks and the occasional awesome ones (dance with the devil, here we are, evil angel, until the end) And the only track in my opinion that is really tiresom is you which is fine regardless.

i believe this is a great album, with the exception of the intro and outro, all the songs are great, and appeal to different people, Topless and Had Enough are more heavy while Here We Are and Diary of Jane Acoustic are softer, making a balance, there may be a few more lighter songs than heavy but it is still a great album

Breaking Benjamin has always been one of my favorite bands, so I was of course eagerly awaiting Phobia when it was in the making.
Phobia is defently a great acomplisment by Breaking Benjamin, and is my personal favorite of there CD's by far. The production is clearly much better in this album, since the great improvement of the sound. Althogh i must admit that at first, I didnt really think much of it, but then after a second hearing I simply fell in love with it.

Hidden track i like that one too i give it a 5/5 cause its acoustic and i like acustic versions of a non acustic song. this one works out perfectly cause its got so much meaning. the video is wierd though you can see it online at you tube i think
