Edit: Album has since grown on me. Still not as good as The Powerless Rise or Oceans Between
Us though.
wow, at first this was more like a 3 but man is this a grower. The more you listen the better it gets. I challenge anyone who doesn't like it to listen to it like 3 full times and then assess again
The hate for this album is very surprising; although, I'm sure the cleans threw some people off. That being rsaid, this album runs train. Catchy and aggressive with some dope ass riffs. Instrumentation and vocals are rboth sick. Competes with AOBU for their best album. rI'm upping this to a five. Just blasted it straight through again. If this shit don't pump you up before game rtime than you're a pussy. Just kidding. Kinda.
Well As I Lay Dying paved the way for metalcore today and it is great that they are still at it. This album has some great moments that will get your head bobbing and your fist pumping. Tim does a great job of mixing up the different style of vocals, and the guitars are thrashing away. But the production gets a little weak, it seems like the guitars over power the drums at times and it takes away from the overall feel of the album. It is a good album, nothing ground breaking but well done and work 3 out of 5.
