I wish Thomas Erak got his former bandmates back and together they would build the city of Troy anew... so we could all hear the glorious sound of it falling again.
A lot of the hooks used on this album are very neat and technical. I was actually surprised as to the skill displayed with some of the riffs. The lyrics are refreshing and have some insight to them. However, the album is still a conventional post-hardcore release and really hasn't done much to change the quality or standard of the genre's output. Albeit that may be the case and independent of that caveat, this is still a great album and is really enjoyable.
This is everything I wanted from Erak since Manipulator. I really liked the debut album, but this one just obliterates it. The awesome guitars are back and the screaming too! Thomas Erak, how we missed you.
err i dunno... lyrics are terrible, I do admit toms writing has gotten better but not by much, the drumming is
not creative. The production makes the heaviness cheesy rather than HEAVY and there sound as a whole is
kind of bland. Also he used to come up with better melodies, even on itue.. and his voice still sucks. Maybe
some good shit will happen on the next album? I doubt it. bbuuuuut there is a progression i'll give it that.
