Eh, Monuments does a great job of being over-hyped and not delivering. It was hard for me to get into this album, but there is obviously a great amount of talent here. Gnosis is a good album but it comes up short where it counts.
Very meh. tone and supercompression doesn't make up for how uninspired Gnosis is. In the future, please don't make this quasi-genre as trope-filled as anime.
This was VERY difficult to sit through for me. It was interesting and innovative for about
the length of the first track before becoming painfully monotonous. The Meshuggah
similarities occasionally cross over into plagiarism if you ask me, even for a djent band,
and many tracks lack any real melody at all. There might be something here if they can
subtract the identical Meshuggah guitar tones and add some life.
An en-capsuled version of Uneven Structure meets Tesseract aka: unoriginal palm muted progressive post-hardcore. However, there are moments on which this band shines and produces interesting ideas.
