Atra Mors is an splendid album, as pretty much all Evoken albums it creates a flawless
atmosphere.. this one draws to mind a very mysterious, intriguing and at times depressive
picture; like being trapped on a dark subterranean cavern. Honestly this album could have
been much more, even though the production is not bad.. the mastering is terrible, it is
ridiculously loud and compressed... I hope the vinyl edition gets the job done and fixes it;
otherwise I'm not buying. that set aside, another beautiful Evoken record.
it's like every other evoken album but with really shitty distracting mastering. it's still pretty good but i hope to hell this grows on me or this could be one of the bigger disappointments of the year.rseriously guys, how come i'm like the only one to notice that the production here is so fucking god awful that it makes the album nigh-impossible to listen to?ralso if you want good funeral doom from this year give towards darkness - barren a spin
Ran into the band a couple of times as they were recording their new album, which wasn't too far from my home. Heard a handful of songs, and its the same great quality we have come to expect from Evoken!
