4.0 excellent | greg84 EMERITUS | December 28th 12 | I can't believe so many people have slept on this album this year. A mesmerizing blend of progressive rock, jazz fusion and post-hardcore with phenomenal musicianship. It's like Coheed And Cambria on drugs.

3.5 great | LifeAsAChipmunk | June 18th 12 | Yet another interesting experiment/progressive rock album to come out this year. Similar to the likes of Art By Numbers and Via Coma, Thank You Scientist incorporate many different genres and instruments in their music (everything from pop punk to funk to Mexican with violins, mandolins, and trombones), apply strange, sometimes awkward, songs tructures, and intensely focus on their instrumentation. The music can be described as complex, silly, gimmicky, and intricate all at once - and the band seems to be well aware of that, striving for that exact effect. At times these attitudes and musical choices seem inconsistent and ridiculous (like the overly long horn solo in track 4), but for the band is always entertaining and often refreshing.

4.0 excellent | Inoculaeted | October 13th 20 | Blood on the Radio is a stunning display. This album doesn't quite reach heights as often as the two that followed, but it's still a borderline classic. This band has no peers.

3.5 great | fantalas | August 2nd 19 | The best debut album ever? Probably not but it's damn impressive nonetheless. 9.5/10

2.5 average | I Am Saruman, The Multicoloured | June 27th 19 | While this band isn't bad, the fact that it relies on the exact same recipe for every single one of their tracks makes it quite limited. It tries to add a lot of different genres to hide the fact that, ultimately, the songwriting is extremely similar from track to track and uses the same tricks and grandiloquent choruses. Pretty disappointing overall.

4.5 superb | gib91688 | June 15th 19 | It grew on me over time and many listens. A solid 4.5 in my book.

3.7 great | Erwann S. STAFF | May 13th 19 | The music is amazing, but I've never been a fan of that kind of vocals. Maybe that's why I'm not that into The Dear Hunter or Coheed and Cambria. Without those vocals, it would most probably be rated much higher.

4.0 excellent | Britch2tiger | July 31st 15 | Will admit I am not so much a fan of the "typical" post-hardcore genre due to certain stereotypical devices (screamo singing) found w/in this form of music. This album, however, proved to go slightly beyond the standard by having toned those stereotypes down and incorporated a jazz element that I found refreshing, especially in the tracks where the vocalist decided to remain silent. Where the lead can certainly sing much better than I, he just happens to not sound all too impressive (range-wise) nor distinctive. The instrumentals make up for that one deficiency and give an enjoyable album. And in my subjective opinion, I find this album much more entertaining than Thrice's Vheissu.
