I've never heard this band before this album, and i'm extremely glad i picked this as a starting point,
this band has a very generic rock feel in vein of breaking benjamin infused with very strong tool
influences. Sounds shitty right? Its really not, this is fucking awesome. Vocalist sounds very very
similiar to the singer or 10 years
Kickstarter supporter. What can I say, I love Parabelle. This album is diverse but doesn't stray from the great lyrics and Kevin Matisyn's amazing vocals.
The vocalist reminds me of 30 seconds to mars, which isn't a bad thing. He is the high point of this album. Great range and great tone. Solid rock songs, my complaint is that most of them are very similar. Listening to the album front to back, it kind of blurs together. But most of the songs are good soooo...
Great album. Unlike their previous efforts, which were really hit and miss in terms of me liking some songs, I don't think there's a song on this album that I truly dislike.
If you're familiar with any other Kevin Matisyn (vocalist) projects... including past Parabelle albums... you should know what to expect in terms of sound. Safe but catchy alt rock featuring his unique vocal style. Clever, poetic lyrics. The difference being that the album doesn't have a ton of weak spots or songs that flat out miss, just don't expect them to branch too far outside of their comfort zones.
My favorite tracks at the moment:
In The Shadows
My Surrender
