I'm struggling on whether to give this a 4 or a 4.5 ...
Anyway, the better production enhances the drums nicely, and the drumming is a step up from Persecution Mania, as is the overall instrumentation.
However, bits of the dark atmosphere is lost, and Angelripper's vocals aren't as evil on
this one. That could be explained as natural progression, from a primitive group to an
advanced band. Not really flaws, as the songs are still great quality... But heck, Persecution mania is something very evil.
Still, this rules!
In my opinion their best record. An absolute classic Teutonic Thrash album.rMy favourite songs are the title track, Tired and Red and Remember the Fallen. Classic!
Clearly the musicianship is here, this album is awesome in terms of technicality, speed and aggression. Their best work. The Thrashy beats are tasty and somewhat catchy. Sodom is best remembered for this album. One of the top ten thrash albums ever IMO.
The vast majority of underground thrash is terrible. You can lump every-other-era Sodom in that group also. It's true what they say about 90% of every genre being shit, you know. But on Agent Orange, Sodom kick so much ass that it's impossible to ignore. You could put Sodom in a 5 foot tall room so they can't even stand up all the way and put a 1,000 pound Cherokee Indian man's ass in the door, and they would be out of there in no time. That's how much ass they kick.
