Judging by the withered crown on the cover, Daybreaker is clearly meant to be the other side of Hollow Crown's coin, and it certainly plays out that way. The band took the best elements of the sound they presented on The Here and Now and mixed it with some of the heavier tones of previous works and for the most part its a lot more enjoyable than their last release. Some songs here though fall completely flat, and although "Unbeliever" is meant to mirror "Hollow Crown" as an emotional album closer, it doesn't come anywhere close to matching it.

This is much closer to Hollow Crown then anything else but it has many more ambient slow
parts which give it a nice atmospheric feel however the only great standout songs that
linger in your mind are the four singles they have released already.

Melancholy is not easily found in metalcore acts, but Architects delivered a good album that when it hits, goddamn it hits right. If it weren't for a few fillers and their (average) previous recording..

It's a solid record overall, but the band really fail to create any standout tracks, save for a few decent pre-release ones. Architects have lost the plot.

Far too many melodic/clean singing sections put in for the sake of it here. Whilst it is slightly better than The Here And Now, it's still a poor album. Won't bother listening to their next release if there is one, they've lost their touch from the first three albums.

Sam Carter "This will be the Architects heaviest album yet". Well it's no doubt he lied. However, this is better then that massive shit stain "The Here and Now". One only hopes this band gets rid of trying to do too much atmospheric pieces and clean singing and start to actually realize what heavy is.

Much better than THAN. Not quite a return to the music such as on Hollow Crown but there are signs of it. As predicted, it's a hybrid of both albums, and some songs work surprisingly well. The softer songs are the weaker ones in my opinion.
