  • SandwichBubble How r you gonna call yourself Resident Brian Wilson Superfan if you haven't rated Van Dyke Parks? He worked with Brian a lot and helped with a lot of SMiLE
    October 19 03:13 AM
  • zakalwe Punk in a nutshell dude. It?s what makes it so magnificent. Well the early stuff anyway it?s been all downhilll ever since.
    October 9 06:15 AM
  • zakalwe No reason. Disagreed hard dude!!!!! They are still one of the only bands who directly channel, vent and have a point to the anger, rage and venom. God Save the Queen is incendiary it?s why Rotten was lambasted 30yrs later for appearing on TV adverts selling butter. He?d sold out to the ideals laid out in the tunes he?d created. The Pistols are the blueprint for real musical chaos and they?ve never been matched tbh.
    October 9 04:42 AM
  • SandwichBubble That's fair, I'm done bothering ya. Time for the nurse to bring me my nightly tea and newspaper to yell at
    October 9 02:57 AM
  • SandwichBubble Seeing the Sex Pistols live would also have a resounding effect on The Clash?s lead vocalist and principal songwriter, Joe Strummer. After witnessing the energy and chaos of a Sex Pistols show, Strummer left his band, the 101ers and joined up with Simonon, Mick Jones, Keith Levine and Tory Crimes [born Terry Chimes]. In 1976, The Clash was born...
    October 9 02:52 AM
  • SandwichBubble had to make sure my facts were straight, but sex pistols were recording around the same time as the clash were and pistols were a band before the clash. How could they've possibly copied them.
    October 9 02:37 AM
  • SandwichBubble I had half a mind to clapback on Blink-182's s/t with the same soundoff, not gonna lie. :)

    November 8 05:00 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist how r u doing also wtf is your profile pic
    November 7 02:51 PM
  • Conmaniac because it's told through the perspective of the boy so he's about as confused as we are and then he dies so there's no way the storyteller can clear everything up. kinda comments on how death can come suddenly as well
    September 30 05:18 PM
  • Conmaniac the men were the drug dealers but one of them was an undercover cop. so he thinks hes gonna die then the cop is like yo actually im undercover and youre just gonna go to jail. then the guy that isn't undercover figures out that someone called the cops and probably figures out his partner is undercover so he shoots him and then the boy right before the cops come to the house to break up the drug deal.
    September 30 12:19 AM
  • Rowan5215 More boring tbh there are some great songs but its Gotye on autopilot. LDB merges all his talents together on every song and it's dope, Mirrors is like all the sampling on State of the Art and the rest are just pop
    September 28 03:48 AM
  • Rowan5215 Mirrors is fine but it kinda got rid of all the stuff that makes Gotye Gotye, like where was the crazy sampling and chill vibes and vocal melodies? Like Drawing Blood is a classic
    September 27 06:40 AM
  • BlushfulHippocrene Fair enough, mate. You should've waited a little and I'm sure some other users would've recommended you some good stuff, but I understand, threads are derailed pretty easily on this site. Since you like Tribe, I'll recommend Hawk House and Digable Planets. Love your Twenty One Pilots ratings, their self-titled used to be one of my favourite albums. :]

    August 29 04:58 AM
  • zakalwe Ha. Good lad! Yeah they were from London. The album is pretty unrelenting but it's all amazing, Horror samples from old films and all sorts of stuff being done before anyone else cottoned on to it.
    August 22 07:03 AM
  • zakalwe Here's one for ya dude. Check Silver Bullet - Bring down the walls no limit squad returns. Relatively popular back in the day but one of the most underrated hip hop album of all time and unheard of nowadays. It's an all out attack.
    August 22 06:46 AM
  • zakalwe I struggle to find the fire in so much of that genre. Seven Day Real Estate is one that sticks out as decent. More recently the world is a beautiful place have their moments but by and large it's bands made up of people whose goals are commercial and ironically whose emotion runs to the depths of a nine year old.
    August 22 06:35 AM
  • zakalwe Couldn't stand Jimmy eat world when they came out dude. Bunch of plastics.

    August 16 04:37 AM
  • bentheREDfan Big Nothing More fan. Love the guitarwork.
    August 16 02:22 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist What are you, gay? Surfer Rosa should have your favorite artwork out of the bunch!
    August 16 12:21 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Well my opinion probably doesn't matter to you because I'm atheist but I will say that whether or not you go to a building is objectively completely arbitrary to whether or not you're a good person dude. You're over-stressing it.
    August 15 04:09 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist I basically just said that what you should do is not feel guilty, I'm personally an atheist but if you imagine a perfect all loving god like I imagine most religious people do, than I doubt he'd actually be mad at you for not going to church for 6 years. And if he even does care about church, isn't the fact that you feel guilty in the first place or that you're "amending" it good enough?
    August 15 03:11 AM
  • TVC15 ...Bossanova
    August 15 02:41 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist hey bro i hope you don't think i was trying to be a feodora asshole on yourd thread. I was just saying don't feel guilty lol
    August 15 12:31 AM
  • TVC15 Surfer Rosa is honestly my least fav Pixies album excluding pre-breakup studio album... Such a weird opinion but it's really only been reinforced by my recent Pixies binge hah
    August 15 12:29 AM
  • TVC15 Oooh borrowed that CD from the library a long time ago. I thought it was decent but I was fairly new to the band at the time
    August 14 11:24 PM
  • TVC15 Yeah man but it's the Internet, not much you could do other than to just ignore the idiots
    August 14 10:46 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin Hmm yeh I suppose sometimes you get unsavoury Christians but for most of my life I've found having Christian friends to be a real help and I've found they generally love you more than most. But maybe that's just the kind of church I'm from
    August 14 10:32 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin Also, I can totally imagine how horrible that is man. I honestly think I might have had anxiety if I didn't have my faith, I used to be an incredibly worried, panicky person. What I would do is pray and ask for God's peace because it is the greatest gift He has ever given me and it has completely changed my life. I can give a few verses about that if ya want. Also if depression is a struggle ask for God's joy as well
    August 14 10:24 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin It is indeed, just surround yourself with good Christian friends and ignore what other people say. Be proud of your faith and read stuff from Christian scholars because all you hear nowadays are arguments against belief! I have definitely struggled in the past, but reading the Bible has really helped and going to a Christian festival kinda thing I experienced God 1 on 1. Depending on how old you are I would recommend going to a similar thing with friends/Church if you can, so much fun
    August 14 10:22 PM
  • TVC15 I think Sputnikers who are religious (like both of us) aren't completely vocal about it because the superior atheists would end up pushing their agenda all over them
    August 14 10:19 PM
  • LotusFlower youre welcome if that actually helped at all. its just nothing to sweat at all honestly.
    August 14 10:14 PM
  • LotusFlower then u just need to shake it off, living in anxiety over trivial things in anything is unhealthy af.
    August 14 10:05 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin Honestly mate I would the post too before it gets really out of hand
    August 14 10:01 PM
  • BenThatsMyJamin Dude, I honestly deal with the same feelings a lot and I have probably done a lot worse stuff to distance myself from God but I just think about how everyone falls short of God's standard as the bar is too high. We are all unworthy of His love which is why it is all the more amazing that He gives it to us so freely. Just remember, Jesus came for you and me, the average sinner. Mark 2:17 and all that. Jesus hung with the lowest of the low and loved them infinitely, so how could He not love you?
    August 14 09:57 PM
  • LotusFlower im not sure what church you go to or what they teach, but this seems like such an outlandish paranoia when in my church it was always taught that no matter how far you 'strayed' so to speak, its always possible to bounce back. Honestly just swallow your fears and slowly reintroduce yourself to what it is that youre saying is currently absent from your life. Thats the most I can say, because like I said, it just sounds like youre being paranoid.
    August 14 09:46 PM
  • TVC15 I don't think I've ever felt unworthy as in your case but always remember to represent your belief in some way be it kindness to people especially strangers or homeless people, praying (outside of Church), etc
    August 14 09:27 PM
  • TVC15 God welcomes everyone dude, there should be no reason you feel unworthy. Everyone's in some way have neglected the Sabbath in some way be it a few weeks or as long as in your case. Also I'm not commenting on the list cos it'll only open up a bigger can of worms hah
    August 14 09:24 PM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Lol it's fine.
    August 13 08:10 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Ok, SOUNDGARDEN IS NOT THAT MUCH PROG ROCK. Like I know they're experimental...but they're barely if even a little bit prog, at least in Superunknown. Anyways, I can definitely agree with what you said. That's a bit too bad dude, I genuinely think AiC were the best songwriters of the movement.
    August 13 07:17 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Ah that sucks dude. Definitely my favorite Grunge band, though I can kind of see the Nirvana love.
    August 13 05:33 AM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist If you don't mind let me give you two songs to kind of "taste test" Alice in Chains. In my opinion they are without a doubt the best songwriters in grunge. Here is one of their most popular off Dirt : https://youtu.be/uAE6Il6OTcs?t=53s . Also check out the opener to dirt, it starts out the album with a kick! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTuD8k3JvxQ
    August 12 10:44 PM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Dirt is basically like a sludgy, doom stoner metal version of grunge. From what i've heard of Soundgarden(Superunknown), Soundgarden are FAR less heavy than Alice in Chains. Alice in Chains also has without a doubt the best vocal performance out of the big 4, Layne is the main vocalist but on songs like Would? the lead guitarist uses his amazing vocals for the verses.
    August 12 10:37 PM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Well their reunion stuff is different i think because the lead singer died after their self titled. Listen to Dirt.
    August 10 07:52 PM
  • AngryLittleAlchemist Alice in Chains is better than Nirvana what are you doing dude.
    August 6 03:40 AM
  • bentheREDfan Thanks man. I'm unabashedly in love with alternative metal (as you could probably tell by the fact RED is my favorite band). I'm gonna change it up a little next and do the metalcore/groove metal/melo death band Sonic Syndicate, but after that, maybe some TDG. I'll never review RED though cause I can't be objective haha.
    July 30 10:03 PM
  • iloveyouall try paris - the devil made me do it, then. might be more your drift.
    July 11 09:46 AM
  • iloveyouall rap has about 50000 different subgenres, but have a shot at: chief keef - back from the dead 2, three 6 mafia - mystic stylez, gorgeous children - s/t, yung lean - unknown death 2002, dalek - absence, lil noid - paranoid funk, and maybe heat wave - I'm ****in you to tonight. covers a few different styles... see what you like.
    July 11 08:53 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Thanks for the pitch man, it was one of the 5 winners and I've 4'd it upon first listen. :)
    July 7 09:40 PM
  • ArsMoriendi Most of the other albums I've heard from him are excellent as well, Guero is probably a good place to go next if you want a safe choice, but check Sea Change if you'd prefer something entirely different.
    June 8 03:51 AM
  • ArsMoriendi I loved your pitch, but unfortunately I've already 5'd Odelay so I can't include it. Mind giving it a second go?
    June 6 11:05 PM
  • TVC15 Thanks for influencing my latest review!
    May 31 04:39 AM
  • ArsMoriendi Why close your list? I had some thing to say on it... like how Year Zero wasn't that angry and maybe you'd like it.
    February 2 07:07 PM
  • romulanrancor Hey man, just seen your new list. You should check out the first 2 arctic monkeys albums, I also thought suck it and see kinda sucked.
    February 2 06:36 PM
  • Hurricanslash Yeah, Doomtrees producers really do an exceptional job. They compliment the already very different styles of the rappers really well.^^
    June 4 08:58 AM
  • Hurricanslash Hey man, did you come around checking some of the artists out yet?^^
    May 31 04:06 PM
  • Hurricanslash Hey man, Atmosphere are pretty cool, especially their album God Loves Ugly, a classic imo. If you want more stuff like that, first off I would recommend Eyedea. Also, Sadistik, Kill Bill, Rav, Doomtree and P.O.S.. I think this should keep you busy for a few days.^^
    April 29 04:28 PM
  • Hurricanslash No problem, man! If you want some recommendations without having your head ripped off, you can always turn to me if you want to. Also, it's safe to discuss Rap with me without getting your head ripped off as well. Just so you know.^^
    March 6 09:00 PM
  • Hurricanslash Because I don't wanna have to deal with Hep like that, if you don't want egotistical rap, avoid Kanye for now. Most of the suggestions in your thread are fine, and please, for your own good, don't listen to Phlegm, Potsy, Hep and LambsBread until you have found your own footing in Hip-Hop and can defend yourself.
    February 26 05:51 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Thank you, what you said also means a lot to me too.
    September 26 01:35 PM
  • CaptainDooRight Thanks for your feedback regarding the trvth album. It really means a lot to me
