  • Hawks Yeah clean production just doesn't work on a lot of bm albums, it's part of the appeal.

  • Hawks There's a lot of great bm out there dude. Once you get used to the sound and some of the production you'll be good to go.

  • Hawks They're all pretty popular within the genre. Start with Bergtatt or Storm of the Light's Bane then move on to the others.

  • Hawks Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse, Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, Cradle of Filth - Dusk and Her Embrace, Ulver - Bergtatt, and Dissection - Storm of the Lights Bane are my top 5 bm albums in that order. m/

  • OmairSh Yeee, TPE is more varied while Remedy Lane is a little softer imo. "Be" is also a brillaint album (you'll enjoy it because it's so far removed from typical prog metal, in fact it's much more folky than metal at all). Great band

  • osmark86 yeah man, check out The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. it follows fellow author Ken Kesey (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) around during the 60s when he and a bunch of oddballs consisting of hippies and beatnicks ventured around the US and Mexico in a bus called Furthur whilst experimenting with LSD. He also wrote Bonfire of Vanities which is considered a classic, but I haven't read that one yet.

  • Jaygoodall Absolutely aware although 2002 was when they recorded their first full length, I'm not going to write about an EP and a few demos in a review for an album that was released two decades after the formation of a band which did nothing major untiil 2002.
